GitHub Satellite is now in orbit around London! At this regional extension of the GitHub Universe conference, you'll learn how to bring together the people and tools you need to build great software. Mark Tareshawty has been enjoying making people misspell the storage capacity for 1024 gigabytes since he grabbed the @tarebyte handle many years ago. He is a Platform Engineer at GitHub based in Columbus Ohio, and enjoys contributing to open source and building tools that makes peoples lives better.
Jacob is the lead engineer for the Met Office Informatics Lab with experience in software development, operational system engineering and cloud architecture. He uses these skills to ensure the lab is building robust prototypes that are pushing the boundaries of technology.
Kat is a cat-cuddling Product Designer at GitHub on the Community and Safety team, where she builds tools that empower communities. She’s a California native who loves story-driven design, code, and rock climbing.
Amy is a PhD Student from the Mixed Reality Laboratory in the School of Computer Science at The University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK. Her background is in audio and recording technologies and her current work focuses on gesture sensing and embodied interactions with digital musical instruments, with a specific focus on tailoring technologies for users with complex disabilities. Amy is the lead organiser for the annual Women in Technology Conference in Nottingham. Amy is passionate about teaching, learning and sharing technology in all kinds of ways through promoting a friendly open environment for beginners.

The after party will take place immediately following the conference at Hawker House, an indoor-outdoor night market featuring multiple epic street food stands, beverage stations, and plenty of billiards tables. Hawker House is just blocks away from Printworks and convenient to Canada Water Overground and Underground Station. It’s just a quick walk from Printworks and conveniently timed right when the conference ends.
