When is Universe?

October 16-17, 2018. To find more information about when conference activities are happening, see the Universe Schedule and our Beyond Universe events.

Can I get a receipt for my ticket?

Yes. To find your receipt:

  • Log in to your Eventbrite account
  • Click Tickets in the drop-down menu on your profile photo in the top-right corner
  • Click GitHub Universe 2018
  • Click Print Tickets to download and print your ticket confirmation

Can I cancel my ticket and get a refund?

Yes. You can get a refund if you complete the request process on or before October 9. To request a refund:

  • Log in to your Eventbrite account
  • Click Tickets in the drop-down menu on your profile photo in the top-right corner
  • Click GitHub Universe 2018
  • Click Request a Refund and complete the form

Can I buy a ticket for just one day?

No. We only have two-day tickets available.

Will the conference have WiFi?

Yes.

Will the conference have captioning or language translation?

We’ll provide live captioning for all Universe content. We won’t have language translation available for the event.

Will there be a nursing room at the venue?

Yes. We’ve arranged a private room for nursing, and we can provide refrigeration upon request.

Will there be gender neutral bathrooms at the venue?

Yes.

Will there be a place for me to store my things at the venue?

We’ll have a coat check area you can use to drop off luggage, but please don’t leave valuables. Right now there is no space between drop off on the site.

Where do I go if I lose something?

If the event is in progress, stop by the Help Desk to check if someone dropped off your lost item. After the event, send us a note with a description of the item.

Will the event be recorded?

Yes. Session recordings will be available a few weeks after the event.

Do you accommodate special dietary needs?

We provide vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free food options. If you have additional dietary needs, let us know at least 48 hours in advance, and we’ll do our best to provide an option that works for you.

Will the conference have food?

Yes. You’ll have several food options for breakfast and lunch on both days of the conference. You’ll also have several snack options from our event caterers and from some of our event sponsors. Dinner will not be provided.

October 17 5:30-8:30pm

Where is the closing reception?

Do I need a conference ticket to attend the closing reception?

Yes. You’ll need your Universe badge to attend the closing reception.

Will non-alcoholic beverages be available?

Yes.

Does Universe have a Code of Conduct?

Could a photo of me at the event be used in promotional materials?

Yes. We occasionally use photos taken at Universe by our photographers in promotional materials.

What should I do if I don’t want my photo taken?

Inform our Registration Team when you check in, and they’ll give you a red lanyard to let our photographers know.
