Managing a GitHub organization: Tools, tips, and best practices

Maintaining a GitHub presence has become integral for Open Source Program Offices (OSPOs) looking to engage with the community and increase visibility of their open source software (OSS) projects. Many organizations rely on the GitHub platform to effectively participate and drive their open source strategy. But how do you get started? How do you effectively manage the GitHub repositories, user access control, and metrics? What kind of process needs to be put in place at your organization to ensure new projects are reviewed and compliant? Is there any tooling that can help?

In this presentation, we’ll go over how we set up github.com/QuIC and integrated it into our open source strategy. We’ll highlight best practices and workflows we adopted, as well as tooling we leveraged along the way.
